Description
Tucked quietly beneath the beast that is SWG3, The Poetry Club is a wildly intimate bar and performance space. Occupying two rooms of a previously disused section of SWG3's structure, the space functions as a dark and cosy auditorium that boasts a modest stage and clever architectural design.
The product of a cool collaboration between the ever-resourceful Glasgow based artist Jim Lambie and SWG3, The Poetry Club combines the immediacy of a pop-up with the over-arching aesthetic of a permanent venue. The space plays host to regular spoken-word events, as well as small-scale theatrics and performance art, with the capabilities to host large scale parties, projections and live music performances. Worth referencing is The Flying Scotsman smoke machine, offering an atmospheric touch to any event.
