Ubiquitous Chip

Ubiquitous Chip is something of a novel name for such an Ashton Lane institution. For more than forty years, Ubiquitous Chip has been the site of raucous laughter and great festivities; immeasurable amounts of pints have been pulled, and endless plates served. The Chip's ethos is that dining should be an enthralling affair, filled with great food, good drinks and lots of laughter. It's this classic Scottish hospitality approach, that sets the tone for a charming, sprawling bar and restaurant, complete with an indoor rainforest, sky-high atrium and a littering of fairy lights. 

Food in the courtyard is fine dining Scottish style, while a brasserie selection is available in the bars, mezzanine and roof terrace. Tipples are regarded as a fine art at The Chip, from a bespoke wine selection to classic cocktails, with real ales and one mighty whiskey collection. There are four spaces to drink them in, included the smallest bar in Scotland, The Wee Pub. And with its Wine Club, Jazz lunches, sporadic festivals and impromptu sessions, there's always something going on at The Ubiquitous Chip.
