The Commonwealth Games took over Buchanan Street this week for the #1ytg celebrations. That's One Year To Go for those not versed in hashtagery. The milestone marks just twelve months to the Opening Ceremony of the Games, on 23rd of July 2014 and organisers were asking Glaswegians "Where will you be?" in an effort to get the city amped up for the event. With an big street party held in the City Centre complete with Games' mascot, Clyde, balloons, acrobats, dances, pipers, and the rather dishy, (can you say that about a Sir?) Chris Hoy, the Games have well and truly been launched in style. Even the Merchant City festival has got us hyped with all its Commonwealth themed shenanigans. We're already utterly amped up for Glasgow 2014, we're excited about the sport of course, but also the Commonwealth parties and events. What are you looking forward to most about the 2014 Commonwealth Games?
