Those craft crazed bunch at BrewDog are a wily sort. This Saturday and Sunday they'll be hosting Collab Fest, one mammoth national brew bash, with local ales from around the country. Each of the 12 BrewDog bars in the UK has teamed up with a local brewery in their area to create their own special brew, and all weekend, all 12 concoctions will be on tap in BrewDogs throughout the land.
For the Glasgow leg of things, BrewDog Glasgow teamed up with the talented folk at Fyne Ales and headed up north for a monster brewing session that resulted in their bespoke black IPA, "48 Miles Later". The fiery new brew has chipotle and ancho chilies for added kick and is finished by dry-hopping with the Glasgow team’s favourite hop, Nelson Sauvin. The Glasgow ales will go head to head with creations from London, Birmingham, Manchester and beyond, with some of the finest local craft breweries in the UK taking part. (We're rather intrigued by Bristol's Pirate Badger Attacks, and Raspberry Beret from Manchester).
The Kelvingrove bar will have all 12 brews on tap this weekend (19th & 20th October), while the folks from Fyne Ales will drop in for a Q&A on Saturday evening. There will be foodie specials and treats on offer all weekend, with DJs kicking off the party after dark. A dandy day out for any beer buff and a rare chance to try crafts from small regional breweries - though maybe avoid having a pint of all twelve, yeah?
