Award-winning chef Jimmy Lee runs the kitchen, taking a detail-focused, fine dining approach to East Asian food. Available to eat in and takeaway, you can expect the likes of stir-fried tofu with mixed vegetables, spicy beef with cashews and crispy sea bass on their menu.

Dating back to 1986, Ho Wong can be found on Waterloo Street in the city centre. Open seven days a week for lunch and dinner, they specialise in Cantonese cuisine, famed for their banquet-style sharing menus that start from £54.50 per person. There's also an £18.50 lunch menu alongside an extensive a la carte offering, serving up everything from stuffed crab claws to chilli salted aubergine and chicken in plum sauce.

Their modern interiors feature bright blue walls and plush booths or armchairs to dine in, covered in pretty floral patterns. The cocktails here are always a hit too, as beautifully presented as they are delicious - we recommend the signature Shanghai Night.

With a name that means 'dragon phoenix', Loon Fung symbolises the harmony between heaven and Earth, aiming to create a similar bliss in their dining experiences. They've been serving traditional Cantonese fare since 1971, in a spacious venue filled with round tables and golden lighting - found on Sauchiehall Street.

They use the very freshest ingredients, including exotic vegetables and meat sourced from local suppliers and seafood caught daily by locals. Dim Sum Restaurant

Aptly named, Dim Sum Restaurant in Merchant City promises some of the finest dim sum in the area. Their chef has been mastering the art of these dishes for over 40 years, and is training his son to take over the family business. The intimate venue is split over two floors, flaunting pretty fairy lights and plants dotted around.

They offer a number of set lunch menus, starting from only £13.95 each. Tuck into steamed chicken satay buns or beef and ginger dumplings, alongside larger Cantonese options such as stir-fried mixed vegetables and king prawn curry.

This Asian fusion restaurant has earned itself an AA Rosette Award for culinary excellence, the perfect choice for more high-end Chinese eats. Having worked his way up from an apprentice working alongside master chefs in Hong Kong, Opium Head Chef Kwan Yu Lee has created a classical menu of dim sum, as well as some more modern choices.
