It feels like every city but Glasgow has their own street food market – and that’s just so unfair. Well, it would be unfair, if pop up restaurant Section 33 hadn't taken things into their own hands and created their very own one, and they want to keep community at the heart of it.
DockYard Social is so cool that it’s found in a secret warehouse location in the West End, boasting over 11 food stalls with different cuisines on rotation. While who’s actually delivering the food is on the DL at the moment, global comfort food sold by ethically-sourced suppliers is the order of the day, and you can expect to find everything from Bulgogi beef with kimchi mayo dirty waffles and crispy honey-porter sticky chicken wings on the menu. There’s also four bars serving specialist craft beer, wine and seasonal cocktails, with a welcome drink included in the very reasonable £5 ticket price. All the dishes are priced at £5 too, with 10 different vegan and coeliac dishes so that there's something for pretty much anyone. The sweetest bit (apart from the food) is that the end game of this space is to create a social training and development school that will nurture local, up-and-coming talent, as well as creating employability services too. Somehow, we’re even more excited for this foodie paradise.
DockYard Social is open from 30th November to 3rd December, 5pm to 11pm Thursday and Friday, 12pm to 11pm Saturday and Sunday in a secret location in the West End.
