Sprigg Waterloo Street - Opening Early 2025
Waterloo Street, G2 6HS
Popular lunch spot Sprigg already has two venues in Glasgow, and a third is opening up at the beginning of 2025. This new location is set to be on Waterloo Street, providing another great options for fresh meals on the go - alongside great coffee.
They use local suppliers for the majority of their ingredients, specialising in salad bowls. These come packed with everything from halloumi and potato salad to tuna or falafel, starting from as little as £4.50 for a small.

Alien UFO Burger & Coffee Takeaway Cafe - Opening Winter 2024
102 Union Street, G1 3QW
One of the most unusual names on our list, Alien UFO Burger & Coffee Takeaway Cafe is an all-day dining spot located on Union Street, opposite Central Station. While the opening date has not yet been confirmed, this venue promises a sci-fi theme through its UFO and alien-based decor.
Their aim is to bring fresh burgers and ice cream to the city centre, all made on site. Their unique flying saucer burgers promise to hold their shape without making a mess, perfect for office workers at lunch time. Plus, they'll be serving breakfast and coffee in the mornings.
Zibibbo - Open Now (November 2024)
Courtyard, Princes Square, G1 3JN
Promising to bring a fresh, new energy to the city centre, Zibibbo opened in late 2024 - brought to you by the team behind Ralph & Finns, Vroni’s Wine Bar, and Malo. This is run by husband and wife duo Andy and Emma MacSween, who have over 30 years of combined restaurant experience.
The all-day venue offers breakfast right through to dinner, with European dishes including aubergine schnitzel, pumpkin and goat's cheese ravioli or braised beef with parmesan polenta. As for the interiors, expect a relaxed yet sophisticated space flaunting huge shelves full of wine.
Margo - Open Now (October 2024)
68 Miller Street, G1 1DT
From the team behind Michelin Bib Gourmand holders Ox and Finch and Ka Pao, Margo is an exciting bar and restaurant that opened on Miller Street in late October 2024. The modern, minimal space lets the food really do the talking, with both tables and kitchen counter seats available.
Glasgow-born chef Robin Aitken will be taking charge of the kitchen, having worked as head chef at Ox and Finch previously. Their menu takes an international approach, ranging from bavette steak with chimichurri to beetroot and goat's curd tortelloni. Despite the prestige of its sister venues, the price point here is reasonable, with most dishes costing under £15.
Habibi - Open Now (October 2024)
18 Gibson Street, G12 8NX
A gorgeous Middle Eastern restaurant with a hidden speakeasy bar Bazaar downstairs, Habibi opened on Gibson Street at the beginning of October 2024. This space is inspired by the childhood family kitchen of the owners, serving recipes passed down through generations. You can expect exposed brick walls, wooden tables and a welcoming atmosphere, with takeaway options available too.
Their menu is entirely halal, featuring a range of kebabs that can be served either on fresh bread or as a bowl with rice, chips or salad. Fillings include chicken shawarma, lamb shish or halloumi and vegetables, with sides like hummus and fattoush salad up for grabs.
