Glasgow sure does have a penchant for street food, eh? If you can't get enough of this new craze or if you've tried every burger bar, pizza palace and curry cavern in the city and are looking for something a bit different, you're in for a treat. Fresh from numerous sold-out appearances at the Edinburgh Festival, the Street Food Cartel will be at SWG3 on the 6th, 7th and 8th of September to dish up some of their brilliant creations to hungry Glaswegians.
Food will be dished out by global cuisine-loving Scoop, and purveyors of authentic food from the West Indies, Fire in Babylon. Tasty offerings such as butternut squash spring rolls, confit pork belly, chilli dogs, Tobago chicken stew and classic jerk chicken will all be on the menu for what's set to be one delicious weekend. Is your stomach rumbling in anticipation yet? Yep, ours too.
The centrepiece is the food, of course, but Glasgow's music scene won't be forgotten, with local DJs providing the soundtrack as you eat. As for at the bar, there will be artisan craft beer on the menu for those buffs who dabble in real brews. This is also a family-friendly event with children welcome on the Sunday, so if any of your little ones are budding foodies, bring 'em along too.
The event will take place on the Friday the 6th, Saturday the 7th and Sunday the 8th of September between 6pm-10pm on the Friday and Saturday, and 1pm-6pm on the Sunday. Tickets are only £5 which includes a welcome drink on arrival. Make sure you head down to SWG3 and support these talented pop-up dining pioneers. Once you try the Street Food Cartel's offerings, you'll be counting down the days until their next event.
