Description
The Barrowland Ballroom is one of Glasgow's most iconic and important music venues. Everyone from Britney to Bowie has graced this East End stage and the Barrowlands is still has popular as ever among Glaswegians.
Continuously featured on Best Venue lists both in Britain and around the world, The Barrowlands is renowned for its incredible acoustics dating back to its days as a dancehall. It's this sound quality that has drawn the likes of Bob Dylan, The Smiths and REM to the venue; Scot singer Amy McDonald even wrote a song about it. Aside from the flashy sign out front, the 2000 capacity venue is retro but understated, leaving the real impact to the headline acts. Explore the Barrowlands by day at the famous Barras market which runs every Saturday and Sunday from 10am-5pm.
