Kelvingrove Art Gallery And Museum

Description

One of the most popular free attractions in Glasgow is Kelvingrove Art Gallery And Museum, located on Argyle Street and boasting 22 themed galleries with over 8000 objects on display. The Spanish Baroque-style building opened in 1901, featuring collections encompassing natural history, Egyptian antiques and design architecture.

There's no need to book this gorgeous space - you can merely rock up with friends or family for a fantastic, cultural weekend browsing famous pieces of art, including Salvador Dali's masterpiece, Christ of St John of the Cross, Sir Roger the Asian elephant, and a giant spitfire hanging from the ceiling of the west court.

Should you fancy a refreshment, you'll find the café whipping up freshly-made sandwiches, as well as offering three-course meals that can be enjoyed in the conservatory overlooking the park.
