What they say:

Named after the plant, Alchemilla is Finnieston's latest opening by Glagow bigwig Fergus McVicar (also of Chinaski's and The Berkeley Suite). The restaurant has a relaxed, minamilist feel with wooden bar and stools circling the open kitchen and small tables to the side. Head chef Rosie Healey previously worked in Ottolenghi in London and it is that taste that is available in Alchemilla - think lots of small, sharing plates, delicately flavoured with Middle Eastern spices.

What we say:

It's about time London let go of some of its top chefs, and we are certainly glad that Rosie Healey has returned to her native Glasgow to head up the kitchen at Alchemilla. Expect delicious dishes such as sea bass ceviche with rosemary and thyme as well as roasted quail, and a wine list that is heavy on biodynamic and organic bottles. They are adding another social aspect to their restaurant with bread coming from Freedom Bakery, a social enterprise that teaches prisoners how to bake. Open 12-12 daily, the restaurant serves brunch over the weekends.
