Description
Named after the Gaelic for 'merchant', Mharsanta is a Scottish-themed restaurant in the heart of Merchant City. Set in the spot formerly occupied by Pancho Villa, the restaurant has a simple interiors scheme, with lots of wood panelling, black and white tiles, and modern wall art.
The menu is the real draw, with a long list of Scottish ingredients used to create classic dishes. From hand-dived scallops with black pudding through to Shetland Island mussels, seafood takes centre stage, albeit with some tasty steak and meat dishes making up the mains. There's a long list of cocktails too, revolving around vodka, gin, whisky, rum and tequila; try the Highland Collins from the Signatures list, which mixes Hendricks Gin, lemon juice, sugar syrup, fresh mint and cucumber topped with soda.
