Description
Salt and Vinegar has brought nautical fun with fish and chips to Glasgow’s Southside.
The venue wears its theme with pride by being decked out with fishing attire, from the port holes to the hanging fish nets to kitsch signs emblazoned with old sailor’s wisdom. The colour scheme matches flashes of azure with exposed brickwork, faded whites and strong silvers on the cornicing. Salt and Vinegar is dual purpose by acting both as a seafood restaurant and a takeaway fish and chip shop throughout the day.
The menu is almost strictly seafood, with an emphasis on classic dishes like haddock or cod and chips, king prawns, mussels and fish burgers. But there’s interesting quirks in the menu, such as a focus on pastas and risottos that sees welcome additions like fish curry and lobster ravioli. For alcoholic drinks it’s back-to-basics, with a simple offering of red, white, rose and prosecco, and Draught St Mungo for beer. They do boast an extensive coffee list with everything from a latte to machiatto making the list.
