Description
Right on the edge of Kelvingrove Park sits a bright and airy Mediterranean style restaurant. Run by Joanna Nethery and Kevin Small, former employees at The Admiral Bar in the city centre and Distill in Finnieston respectively, Five March places special importance on sourcing local and ethical food. The result is a diverse food menu with something for everyone, including a variety of options for vegan and vegetarian diets. Dishes range from meaty bavette steak with pickled onion puree to roast cauliflower with pickled grapes and other plant-based toppings.
Following the Mediterranean theme all the way down to the drinks, the bar has a selection of Lebanese and Macedonian wines in addition to its organic and vegan wine offerings. Yummy cocktails are also in abundance with concoctions such as a fiery rum, pineapple and citrus mix. Five March is a simple concept that packs a big punch, even offering a lovely outdoor terrace – just small enough to feel intimate and relaxing. The restaurant is also wallet friendly with sharer-style plates and dishes £10.50 and below.
