Bar Soba Mitchell Lane

With venues on both Mitchell Lane and in Merchant City, Bar Soba is the place to be for Thai eats in cool surrounds. You'll find quirky neon signs and Asian-inspired artwork lining the walls, with low lighting creating an intimate, trendy vibe.

They're well known for their cocktails, with boozy brunches available too, though their main menu is just as impressive. We're talking classic pad Thai and green or red curry, alongside fusion dishes such as glazed mushroom burgers or banana leaf-wrapped grilled haddock.

Thaikhun Glasgow

Situated in the Silverburn shopping centre, Thaikun is a vibrant, colourful venue filled with quirky decor - think Buddha statues, flags hanging from the ceiling and all sorts of ornaments dotted about - creating the feeling of a traditional Thai family kitchen.

Start off with a traditional tom yum soup, before indulging in the likes of stir-fried chicken tamarind, beef or vegetable massaman curry and seafood udon noodles. They serve a wide variety of cocktails to wash it down - our favourite is the tropical rum cooler.

Chaophraya Glasgow

Often considered the best Thai restaurant in Glasgow city centre, Chaophraya is housed in a stunning four-storey venue, making it the largest Thai restaurant in Europe. The interior is decked out in deep red and gold furnishings, with lots of statues, plants and chandeliers decorating the space, and there are three bespoke private dining rooms to boot.

This business has been around for 20 years, originally started by a husband and wife duo: Kim, who once ran her own pad Thai cart in Bangkok, and Martin, who brought the business to his hometown of Leeds - their first location. They aim to deliver an authentic taste of Thai cuisine, with an extensive menu that features everything from royal lamb massaman to king prawn jungle curry and tofu stir-fry.

Ka Pao

Looking for authentic Thai restaurants in Glasgow's West End? Then check out Ka Pao, brought to you by the team behind Kelvingrove restaurant Ox and Finch. Taking its name from the Thai word for 'holy basil', this venue serves dishes inspired by the owners' travels across South East Asia.

Tuck into short rib green curry, charcoal-grilled celeriac and coconut-poached king prawns with jackfruit. Or if you want a taste of everything, opt for their sharing menu for four or more diners, costing £30.50 per person.
