The Liquorists have an exciting travelling adventure for you to embark on at their new bar: the Kowloon Correspondents Club (or, KCC for short). Following the story of a fictional roaming journalist, you can expect a menu of 14 drinks which tell the tale of Albert Henry Belvedere. Albert, a Manchester Guardian reporter, travels the world from Manchester to Kowloon Bay in Hong Kong, sharing his experiences through the medium of expertly concocted cocktails. Transport yourself to 1930s Manchester, whilst inhaling the fragrance of Kowloon and tasting the aromatics of New York, San Francisco and Hawaii amongst the other places met by Albert on his travels, in this unique new bar.
What we say:
KCC is an intriguing venture complete with a refreshingly theatrical concept. The eponymous hero, Belvedere Vodka, will be the star of the show and will be served with home-made liqueurs, syrups and cordials, creating the most impressive and special sounding cocktails around. The Grade II listed building, Barton Arcade, will play host to KCC and a programme of cocktail masterclasses throughout the week – the perfect venue for such a feat. Celebrating cocktails is how it should be; KCC are bringing back the cocktail hour where all drinks (yes, ALL drinks) are half price. We think this will be the new best place for all adventurous cocktail lovers.
