Taking inspiration from iconic party hotspots, including Havana, Miami and L.A., Canal Club is the new café and bar that’s caught our attention. Not only does it sling out scrumptious brunches, top-notch lunches and rocket-fuel coffees, but it also ramps things up when dusk begins to fall, taking you from day to night with live music, DJs and quirky cocktails.
Found on the waterfront in the centre of Leeds, this stylish joint boasts snazzy, bold decor with a little tropical flair thrown in. Think geometric patterns, neon signs, living walls and lots of lush palm plants. During sunlight hours, the place is laid-back, perhaps with a relaxing acoustic set on the go, but later in the evening? It morphs into a seriously sexy late-night watering hole, complete with thumping tunes and all kinds of delicious drinks.
Kick start your day with bagels, a lip-smacking selection of sweet treats or a 'fancy pants' beans pot. You can also dive straight into the main menu, which carries the venue's international theme, showcasing sharing plates such as Szechuan salt and pepper squid, pulled BBQ jackfruit tacos and an intriguing charcuterie jar. To make sure you don’t go thirsty, sink signature sips like the Rangpur southside, which mixes Tanqueray gin with lemongrass syrup, fresh lime and mint. Or if that's not your bag, try out the many wines, beers, and ciders on offer.
