There’s nothing quite like a cold brew as temperatures rise… Kirkstall is an independent brewery in Leeds that’s finally opened the doors to its taproom, after a number of successful tap takeovers across the city.
In a way, the venue pays homage to the pubs that have Kirkstall on its pumps, incorporating a traditional boozer aesthetic to its otherwise industrial interiors. From its wooden bar to quirky vintage ads along the wall, there’s a familiar charm to the place. However, it is what’s behind the bar that’s of most importance to fans of the brewery. Guests can sip on imports from the fridge as well as a number of cask creations. This includes the classic Kirkstall Pale Ale, a full-bodied stout by the name of Dexter, and a smooth black porter called Black Band in celebration of Kirkstall Forge (the oldest in England).
Of course, you’ll need something to line your belly as you work your way through it all. And what goes better with a pint than freshly-baked pizza? As well as offering a number of fresh daily specials, there’s also mouthwatering slices of soft, doughy slices topped with truffled sausage, Yorkshire ham, mushrooms or four cheeses, among various seasonal options.
