Mowgli Water Street Liverpool

On Water Street and Bold Street, you'll find twinkling lights, rope swings and a buzzing atmosphere in the form of Indian street food restaurant Mowgli. Its set menu is not only affordable (coming in at £25 per head), but also comes in gluten-friendly and vegan editions.

Choose between fenugreek kissed fries or gunpowder chicken to start, then tuck into the spot's signature, creamy mother butter chicken, or temple dhal, accompanied by fluffy basmati rice.

In the heart of Royal Albert Dock is Gusto, a great Italian restaurant housed in a towering space with exposed brick walls, dangling pendant lighting and winding vines. It's a great place to dine with family and friends, as it offers a range of set menus starting from £36.95 (gold) to £47.25 (platinum) as well as vegetarian and vegan options.

Up for munching? Think spicy mozzarella arancini to start, or dough ball petals, followed by honey, lemon and thyme chicken, crab fettuccine, and pistachio crème brûlée or its signature tiramisu for dessert.

Browns Brasserie & Bar Liverpool

When it comes to set menus in Liverpool city centre, Browns Brasserie & Bar is up there with its lunch deal. Venture to the sophisticated restaurant and treat your loved ones to some bargain eats by bagging two courses for £18.95 or three courses for £22.95 from midday to 5pm, Monday to Friday.

Start off light with a duck and plum salad, or asparagus and exotic mushrooms on sourdough with a Chardonnay and tarragon vinaigrette, then enjoy a chicken and leek pie for mains or a silky roasted butternut and squash risotto.

Gino D’Acampo Liverpool

A lively Italian restaurant, Gino D'Acampo Liverpool offers an inviting atmosphere, perfect for enjoying classic and contemporary Italian dishes. Located in the heart of the city, the space is kitted out with glowing neon signage and soft lights.

It features a diverse menu crafted by celebrity chef Gino D'Acampo, highlighting fresh ingredients and traditional recipes, and the set lunch menu in Liverpool is not to be missed, with two courses for £26 or three for £31. Our picks? Home-baked focaccia with baby plum tomatoes, risotto mantecato with wild mushrooms and caramelised garlic, then pistachio gelato to finish.

Restaurant Bar & Grill - Liverpool

Housed within the striking former banking hall of Halifax House, Restaurant Bar & Grill Liverpool is a truly dazzling place to eat. Dine among chandeliers and towering pillars, as large windows let in floods of natural light.

The set lunch menu is available from Monday to Saturday, 12pm 'til 5pm and boasts two courses for £22.50 or three for £28. You can delight in a handful of international eats, such as tuna tataki to begin with, or chicken skewers, followed by the likes of a halloumi burger, steak frites or miso aubergine, with a burnt Basque cheesecake to top things off.

NORD

The Michelin-starred, AA Rosette-winning NORD celebrates fresh ingredients with Liverpudlian Executive Chef Daniel Heffy at the helm. The menu draws from his time in Scandinavia, with all fish and seafood supplied by Birkenhead-based fishmonger Wards Fish. Interiors-wise, you can expect to be greeted by plush greens, foliage, and a speckled tiled floor which, together, create a relaxing and sophisticated spot to dine.

For £72 per person, the set menu features some of the standout dishes from NORD, including beef tartare with tallow emulsion, macadamia and pickled cucumber, plus grilled lamb rack accompanied by raita yoghurt and charred cucumber jus. If you have room for more, the coffee crème brûlée with cacao husk is a must-eat.

Hawksmoor Liverpool

Head to this notable steak restaurant located within the Grade II-listed India Buildings and you'll soon see why The Hawksmoor set menu is a belter. The decor nods to the Roaring Twenties, sporting original fittings and antique street lamps straight from 1920s Paris.

It sources its beef from local farmers and ages it in a bespoke dry-ageing room, and from Monday to Saturday 'til 6pm you can enjoy it as part of a two (£25) or three-course (£28) meal. Look forward to rump steak, roasted hake, and sticky toffee sundae to finish, or some decadent peanut butter shortbread.

Panoramic 34

Head up to take in 360-degree, sky-high views at Panoramic 34 - Liverpool's towering dining experience that can be located 300 feet above sea level, on the 34th floor of the West Tower. It also happens to be one of the tallest restaurants in the UK, and offers a fantastic wine list and superb food - what's not to love?

Its prix fixe menu includes two courses for £59 and three for £69; begin by devouring whipped salt cod Brandade with caviar, hashbrown and pickled radish, then proceed with a tempting main. Our favourites include the halibut or the Deer Manor lions mane mushroom, alongside sauce au poivre and pickled shimeji.

The Art School Restaurant

Paul Askew's The Art School Restaurant offers a refined dining experience that highlights seasonal and locally sourced ingredients. Set in a beautifully restored Victorian building, the restaurant combines contemporary design with a warm atmosphere. The menu features innovative dishes inspired by classical techniques, often showcasing the best of British cuisine, with an emphasis on art and creativity.

At £125 per head, the tasting menu is a true gem, featuring the likes of pan-seared Loch Fyne scallops, served in the half shell, on a bed of creamed leeks with Southport potted shrimps. For those who are looking for a more affordable option, the eatery also offers an 'excellence' menu (£95) and a prix fixe (£49.50).

Madre

Madre in Liverpool is a vibrant taqueria and mezcal bar that celebrates the flavours of Mexico. Born in 2019 from the same team behind Belzan, it's known for its relaxed atmosphere and lively decor. The restaurant offers a menu filled with authentic tacos, fresh salsas, and homemade tortillas, all made with high-quality ingredients.

If you're visiting as a group, the feasting spread is the perfect choice as it's designed to share and provides starters, tacos and a dessert each for £40 per person. Delight in fried chicken tossed in a sweet and spicy arbol sauce, beef shin or Baja fish tacos and finish off with homemade churros. Mmm.
