Description
The menu may be small, but the flavours at this Hope Street spot are mighty.
Walk into the space that was formerly home to Clove Hitch and you'll find candlelit tables, ambient music and friendly service across three charming oak-floored dining rooms. From the beautiful beer garden through to the family-feel, Bread & Butter is a top choice if you're looking for well-executed classic French provincial cuisine. With co-founder and head chef Stephan Sundermeier's experience at Everyman Bistro and Homebaked Anfield, you can guarantee a delicious meal.
The menu is concise, with a less-is-more approach. It's about seasonal ingredients and locally sourced produce and dishes have been perfectly refined for great value. Start with home-made liver paté or maple-glazed crispy pork belly then make your way to moules marinière and chicken fricassée. Just make sure to leave room for the signature bread and butter pudding. When it comes to drinks, you can choose from an extensive wine list, with organic wines at the forefront, alongside local beers and a quality selection of spirits and tonics.
