Housed in a picturesque brick building sits Bread & Butter, an all-day eatery bringing a taste of classic French cooking to the Liverpool masses. With a focus on country cuisines and the simplicity of basic ingredients, this Hope Street restaurant is serving up some of France's most-loved comfort dishes and seasonal food. At the helm is co-founder and head chef Stephan Sundermeier, bringing with him experience from some of the city's top eateries, including Everyman Bistro and Homebaked Anfield.
Local produce and accessible ingredients are at the forefront, with a menu inspired by the kitchens of families in the French countryside. Think house-made liver paté and grilled figs with Gorgonzola and honey through to rich mains like boeuf bourguignon and the signature bread and butter pudding. All to be washed down with local craft beers and organic wines, also available in their downstairs bar.
