Description
With head chef Paul Askew at the helm, the Art School Restaurant offers Liverpool's foodies a fine dining experience, framed by exquisite wine and signposted by a selection of traditional British dishes that have had a modern twist added to them.
History runs down the spine of this spot. Based in Liverpool's Georgian Quarter, the restaurant is based in the latern room of a 1888 building that was as a 'Home for Destitute Children' and is simply decorated with a handful of vintage antiques and intriguing furnishings. The walls are purposely left bare, while the quaint lighting and colourful furniture adds a sharp edge to the serene venue.
Of course, the primary highlight of this venue is its stunning food menu. Alongside a diverse wine list that includes products from across the globe, the chefs make use of an arsenal of locally source ingredients to plate up an array of delectable British dishes. Expect to find the likes of pork loin and slow cooked belly, served with caramelised Victoria plums, morels, charred leek and Parisienne potatoes, and pan roast turbot with poached oyster, courgette, sturgeon caviar and pommes mousseline.
