Clockworks

Description

Hidden away in Liverpool's Wolstenholme Square, Clockworks is a charming restaurant and bar based in one of the city's oldest industrial warehouses. Having originally been used as a merchant house back in the 18th century, the building's history and heritage is a crucial part of the venue's character.

The core characteristics of the building remain intact; dark red brick walls, mahogany wooden floors and exposed metal pipes hanging from the ceilings give the venue a distinctive, industrial look. But the cosy leather booths, warm lighting and constant chatter help to give things a more homely feel.

Open at 9 AM most days of the week, the venue serves brunch, lunch and dinner to the city's hungry dinner. The restaurant's menu has been inspired by a variety of different culinary influences and features a handful of traditional plates that have all been twisted and tweaked in subtle, contemporary ways. Guests will find the likes of wild mushroom and asparagus crostini, Ratatouille macaroni and cheese, and hearty double cheeseburger on the menu. Rounding things off nicely, the bar is signposted by an impressive line-up of international spirits, craft beers and fine wines.
