Good news for hospitality in 2021? It’s been few and far between. But fortunately that’s about to change, as Liverpool’s Metquarter has just announced a huge new food hall, which is set to open in late spring.
Named the General Post Office (in reference to the building’s past), the new space will be home to seven street food vendors showcasing the best in international cuisine; from spicy Thai curries to Nashville fried chicken and Taiwanese bubble tea. Sure to whet your appetite, the list of confirmed vendors currently includes Patty B’s Burgers, Dirty Herb Vegan Chicken and Restaurant Konjo, with more to be announced.
The shiny new food hall will be located at the Victoria Street entrance of the Metquarter and will neighbour the Everyman Cinema, making it the ideal spot for a post-film feast. Better yet? It will come complete with a high-tech smartphone app that allows you to order and pay at the click of a button, alerting you when your food is ready with a friendly ding. And with a system that rewards you with loyalty points for every purchase you make? You won’t need an excuse to return every weekend.
