Eric Yu and The Breakfast Group (the minds behind Burlock, Opium and 68 and Boston) are back once more with an all-new venture. Tucked away in the heart of Bermondsey Street, The Last Talisman is set to serve expertly crafted cocktails alongside a menu of small plates.
At the helm of the kitchen will be Tim Ross Watson, who has trained at The Academy of Culinary Arts and launched numerous restaurants in Singapore. He’ll be applying his experience to the menu of Asian-inspired signature dishes (such as the XO burger with black pepper sauce and crispy shallots, served in a mini bao bun), alongside BBQ skewers cooked over the grill. Meanwhile drinks will come from Dre Masso, who has worked at a number of legendary London bars including Salvador & Amanda, Lonsdale House and Oliver Peyton’s Atlantic Bar & Grill. He's crafted a collection of 25 unique mixes for The Last Talisman including a banoffee old fashioned, a ghost negroni and the Talisman take on a classic bellini. The menu as a whole will bring together Eric's memories of his childhood enjoying Asian street food with Tim's experiences of the Far East.
Mala Madre, the hidden bar within The Last Talisman is open this week on Tuesday and Wednesday. The venue's social media has hinted at modern art-lined walls and a lively event schedule, which we’re sure will be revealed in due course...
