What they say:

Two familiar faces are behind East London's latest cocktail bar, where they plan to mix innovative drinks with a relaxed, hospitable vibe. Meet Horatio Street Cocktail Club, coming to you from Simon Thompson and Jake O’Brien Murphy, who you may recognise from working behind award-winning cocktail bar Callooh Callay. Sitting beneath The Nelson’s Head, you’ll find a cosy space with low-slung tables, low-hung lighting, and artwork on the walls - but don’t mistake the intimacy for stuffiness. They’re aiming for a relaxed and informal vibe supported by their upbeat music playlist.

What we say:

With that kind of pedigree behind the bar, the cocktails aren’t likely to disappoint. They’ve launched with a price range around £9, which is very reasonable for London, and gives you wonderful mixes like the Dirty Faces, coming with Fords Gin, beeswax calvados, apricot and verjus, or the Lips, created from… electrocuted Ribena. Meanwhile, you can also order classic cocktails, if you aren't feeling particularly adventurous. Though there isn't just one string to their bow: they have a beer and wine list curated by War on Terroir, ranging from the easy drinking to the special stuff.
