Catching the attention of EFG London Jazz festival with her unique voice and musical fusion of Jamaican rhythms and Jazz, her new Ballard ‘September’ showcased an orchestral arrangement by composer Guy Barker for BBC 4 Jazz Voice, establishing her as one of the UK’s finest female singer/songwriters. This showcase signposts a new musical direction that boasts original songs and classic jazz standards delivered in her unique and much-loved vocal style.

Carroll’s emotional vocals and high-energy live shows are legendary- a musical journey that has taken her to numerous prestigious venues and theatres throughout the UK, Europe, the Caribbean islands, the USA and Asia. Additional ventures have led her to arranged& provide numerous vocals for musical luminaries throughout the years including collaborations with Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Kylie Minogue, Boy George, Sade, Petshop Boys, Natalie Cole, B.B. King, Chaka Khan, M People, Eric Clapton, Art Blakey, Jools Holland, Courtney Pine, Lee Scratch Perry, Billy Ocean, Maxi Priest, Aswad, the duo Sly & Robbie and Annie Lennox. Carroll has composed original music for Film & Documentaries on leading news and entertainment outlets and channels including BBC1, BBC2, Channel 4, Comedy Central, Formation Films, Oxford Films/TV and Initial TV as well as contributions to the soundtrack for Neil Jordan’s Oscar & BAFTA award winning film, ‘The Crying Game'. She developed her first theatre piece, the ‘Lovers Rock Monologues’, collaborating with singer/actor Janet Kay & Victor Romero Evans, which was performed at Birmingham Rep, Tricycle Theatre now Kiln Theatre London, Royal Court Theatre London and the Millfield Theatre in Edmonton. Carroll’s musical achievements are currently being collated by the Jamaican government as part of the UNESCO cultural global heritage initiative for the protection and recognition of Reggae music.
