Overlooking Canada Square, Wahaca’s Canary Wharf is in the heart of Canary Wharf. Wahaca Canary Wharf has an upbeat fun-filled vibe. Treat your taste buds to a Mexican sensation. Founded by MasterChef winner Thomasina Miers, it’s the spot to get your guac and chips fix. On the menu since opening, their signature Pork Pibil Tacos are a firm favourite. A menu for people avoiding gluten is available. Half of the dishes on the menu are vegetarians, so plant-powered people, rejoice. Their extensive vegan menu is a great way to enjoy all the flavour and texture you expect from a Mexican feast.

They also have a space that can be booked for private hires, their Terrace Bar, hosting up to 80 guests, it is a fantastic venue, be it for corporate celebrations, private parties or post-work drinks. Parties and group bookings can pre-order a canapé menu to eat in the bar, which offers bite-size versions of many favourites from the restaurant’s street food selection (think fresh guacamole and tortilla chips, toasted chipotle chicken quesadillas and crunchy sweet potato taquitos) accompanied by freshly shaken margaritas in many exotic fruity flavours, with a classic version of the cocktail setting you back only £7.75.

The décor is bright and colourful, with a huge mural along the back wall. The seating is well placed to accommodate numerous small groups of twos and threes, or a larger group spread across a few tables. The atmosphere works for drinks with both friends and colleagues, providing a good ambience but rarely becoming overcrowded.

Whilst it may take some serious willpower to pass by the Wahaca restaurant without stopping for a taco or two, everyone is encouraged to head up and enjoy some drinks and the view from the bar, whether you plan to eat downstairs or not.
