Despite its name, this Latin American-inspired bar knew exactly its destination and purpose when it revamped itself in the basement of Lima Floral in Covent Garden. Representing the many distinct flavours of the exciting continent, The Lost Alpaca serves quality spirits from several countries including Peru, Mexico, Venezuela and Brazil. Co-founder Gabriel Gonzalez hopes to make the bar as atmospheric as its fun source of inspiration.
There's no shortage of drinks with everything from the mint and ginger beer-filled Palo Santo Vibe to the citrus-infused Classic Pisco Sour. The refurbished venue creates a laidback vibe with its distressed brick walls and printed retro-style wording. Tasty Peruvian bar snacks and a self-proclaimed innovative cocktail menu makes the Alpaca perfect for after-work drinks or a quick daytime getaway.
If you're feeling at all guilty for being tempted by the Alpaca's range of spirits, take console in the promise of your precious pounds going toward helping the environment. Teaming up with Cool Earth, the bar will be donating 50p toward halting deforestation and climate change for each purchase of their Alpaca Punch – a delicious mix of Brazilian cachaça, dark rum and guava.
