What they say:
Co-owned by bar entrepreneur Nick House and British model Kelly Brook, Steam & Rye aims to emulate an experience of a bygone era. The decor boasts an air of 1940s American glamour, fused with the romantic influence of the Wild West to create an atmosphere described as "Nightjar meets Coyote Ugly". Head bartender at London Cocktail Club and Match Bar, and winner of the highly acclaimed Bartender Of The Year Award, Andy Mil takes the helm at Steam & Rye to create all sorts of weird and wonderful concoctions. Michelin standard grub is prepared via the Josper Grill in the kitchen, featuring USDA grain-fed beef from Greater Omaha, succulent BBQ spare ribs, and perfectly smoked pulled pork.
What we say:
Steam & Rye is a three bar, grandeur cocktail extravaganza: if Mil's last cocktail innovations are anything to go by, guests can certainly expect nothing less than a multi-sensory tasting delight. Influenced by the food and drink of the Southern state, Steam & Rye presents the best in American Whisky, Bourbon and Kentucky dishes prepared by Michelin starred chefs. With Hollywood set designer Jonathan Lee, winner of the Milan Film Festival Production Design Award, unleashing an eccentric vision of a 19th Century railroad on the interior decor, you are sure to be swept away by the incredible attention to detail. As proclaimed, this bar is the 'American Dream on very British soil'. Guests can drink cocktails out of boots, ride a bucking bronco and dance to live music until 3am every morning.
