Amongst the cobbled streets of St Pauls I could hear the music whilst I approached Yager Bar. From the outside the venue looks like a West End bar and yes admittedly I had my doubts before setting foot through the door, nevertheless my experience was surprisingly enjoyable.

Ambience & Décor
Yager Bar has the great advantage of not being cramped between office blocks and therefore offers plenty of space for both relaxing on numerous sofas, tuck into some food at a table, or enjoy drinks at the bar. The décor of the bar isnt anything spectacular however it caters well for a frill free night out in London. The bar doubles up as a restaurant during the day- serving food from 12pm. Furthermore with several TV screens scattered around, it is a hot spot for catching the latest sporting action. Depending on which night you visit the mood of the bar can be very different. Having popped in on a Thursday, the feel was lively but laid back with old school tracks. Nevertheless come down on a Friday and chart music will be turned up and the weekend crowds will come flooding in. if you wish to escape and unwind, Yager Bar has a separate Courtyard area with sofas and tables and chair which can also be reserved for larger groups.

Clientele & Atmosphere
There is something pleasantly easy going about Yager Bar, despite being set in a part of town where you would expect to be bombarded by suits and ties, everyone who enters the bar seems to be after one simple thing- a good night out. Be it sipping cocktails on the sofas or letting their hair down on the dance floor the bar comfortably caters for both. Friendly staff, mixed crowds of office workers and party goers create a upbeat environment perfect for an early kick-start to the weekend. Visiting on a late Thursday night, we could already feel the place buzzing and were safely instructed that the weekend only gets busier.

Food and Drink
Yager is a fun time bar so the main focus is not food or drink, having said that, drinks are reasonably priced and the cocktails are surprisingly delicious. Personally I like to test bars by their Martinis so I ordered an Amarula XO Martini, made with Pratron XO Coffee it is the perfect drink to kick start the evening. I cant say I fell head over heels however I think the barman gave it a good shot. Drinks to follow were Spiced Mojiots and Amaretto Sours, both well shaken and full of flavour. Having just come from dinner, we didnt eat at Yager however they have sharing platters should you wish to nibble on something.
Music
Each night is different at Yager Bar and it aims to cater for whatever mood your in, weekdays see more chilled out music as well as Casino evenings. Come Thursday and the tracks are cranked up, the beat quickens and the party gets going. Thursdays are generally filled with all-time classics and sounds from across the ages, whilst Fridays are RnB influenced with club classics thrown in late into the night.
