Join us for our next 'Alchemy' event.

Step into Cafe Cairo, a Narnia-esque world just off Clapham High Street. Absorb the warmth of the tapestry filled walls, rich reds, burnt oranges and deep ochres.
Throughout the night creative performances will pop up around the colourful venue as our artists prepare to entertain.

To kick off the evening, our resident house band, 'The Jazz Slingers' are showcasing their finest tunes. You'll hear some modern classics alongside favourite jazz standards. Don't miss them they will be swinging from 9pm sharp.

Make sure to wear your dancing shoes as Robin Porter aka 'Sleight', will be scaling all genres with his trusty Piano. Our beloved musical chameleon will also be hitting the decks later on in the evening and is guaranteed to get you grooving!

“I am grim all day- but I make you laugh at night.” 'My Crocodiles' is a piece by the amazing performing Harlequin Holly Rush. It explores the two sides of a person, the real and the fictional- who we perform for and the crocodiles we hide.

But this night is not only about music and dancing, Cafe Cairo boasts an impressive twist on a typical cinema in it's outdoor tent, comfy cushions and wall hangings galore. 

This tent will host a two hour video mapping installation 'Seek and Hide' by artists Dominica Harrison, Kim Noce & Dancer Anna Spink. 

You are free to wander in and out of the space as it evolves, be there at 9.30 if you want to catch Anna's movement response to the animations dancing about the room.

We will also be playing a selection of short silent films in the smoking area until 11pm- come catch works by the incredible Olwyn Carroll, Laurent Azemi & Dominica Harrison.

We also welcome a musical  from a special guest. We're keeping our lips sealed for now but we'll give you a little clue...
