Secondo Bar and Café is a delightful vintage gem tucked carefully away from the raucous bars on Clapham High Street. Serving up foodie treats and great drinks day and night, this is also one of the most unique party venues in London.
Décor and Ambience
Secondo is set inside an old railway arch, just off Clapham North tube, with glassed doors opening up and revealing a cavernous space packed full of character and charm. Vintage is the name of the game here, with a motor car parked inside setting the tone and 50’s music posters lining the walls. Not so long ago there were racks of vintage clothes for sale at Secondo but due to space the clothes have gone. There are comfy lounge sofa’s and chairs as you walk in and a whole host of vintage objects dotted around that creates a quirky, creative setting. There is even a mobile caravan packed in at the back that is waiting to be explored! There are street side tables out the front popular with smokers and alfresco drinkers.

Clientele and Atmosphere
By day, Secondo is a relaxed and quirky Café, serving up delicious homemade organic treats like cakes and quiches with a mix of arty-types typing away on laptops and locals having an afternoon coffee. By night Secondo transforms into a live music and DJ bar with regular jazz nights on that perfectly fit the vintage setting, as well as supper clubs and private parties packing out the space. Secondo specialises as a host of private hire parties and is a fantastic space for a memorable occasion.

Food and Drinks
Secondo specialises in home-cooked food and locally sourced ingredients. The quiches and pies go down very well, priced very reasonably at £8 and those with an appetit will be delighted to hear that customers are actively encouraged to ask for larger portions! Food is served day and night, so midnight munchies are well catered for if you have had a heavy night drinking. They offer up a play-it-safe cocktail menu at a drinkonomical price of £5 a go, and a strong wine list of new world wines starting at £16. A great selection of continental beers from Bitburger to Tyskie Gronie are well priced at £3.50 a bottle.
Music
Jazz is the speciality here, with a fantastic live house band playing regularly through the week and on Fridays and Saturdays. You will hear numbers from the 1920’s to blue’s and 50’s rock. DJ’s are often on the scene as well playing a party soundtrack ranging from 50’s to 80’s.
Secondo Bar and Cafe is a vintage delight with live jazz bands and private hire available.
