The Loft had heady expectations and recommendations as it has one numerous impressive awards. I went on a Friday. I ascended the stairs and stepped into The Loft. On first sight it is very impressive. It has a New-York bar feel to it with its brown leather couches, trendy fittings and exposed pipework on the ceiling. The music was commercial and loud enough to have a little boogie too if you fancy (although space is a premium). We managed to get a table round the corner of the main bar area, which made the experience that much better. The cocktail list is fantastic, with the old classics you'd expect and some new ones. I had the Passion of the Loft - which was a fruity marvel! Is this one of the best bars in London? Hmmm I'm not sure, as that is a biiiiig statement. However, it is a brilliant bar and one that won't let you down if you're looking for a good night out. One of the best bars south of the river? Probably yes.
