What they say:
Beloved kitsch paradise and teapot cocktail masters Little Nan’s are expanding out of boozy brunches with a restaurant and bar in Fitzrovia. You’ve probably heard about the other award-winning venues in Deptford and Catford thanks to their retro mish-mash decorations, quirky cocktails, and obsession with Pat Butcher, and their newest joint is still channelling that 'Lewis Carroll meets your Gran's interior designer' feel. This one's theme is ‘kitsch royal interior’ (so expect reds, golds and crowns aplenty) across three zones, as well as a downstairs dress up room.
What we say:
The brand’s based on Grandson Tristan’s actual Little Nan, who lived for 103 years, across six Royal monarchs and experiencing a whole bunch of British food trends. While whatever those guys were eating in the 70s is hopefully left off the menu, the focus at this Little Nan’s joint is all about celebration fresh British flavours in dishes designed to share amongst friends. Expect bites like Aunt Mary’s Welsh lamb chops marinated in mustard and mint, as well as Ian Beale’s wholetail scampi with hand cut chips and tartar sauce (of course they couldn’t resist the EastEnders reference). Accompanying all this are their signature cocktails served in teapots and… vases? At Little Nan’s, it’s better to just go with it.
