What they say:
No nonsense tacos are the name of the game at chilled out restaurant bar Del 74. They boast a tight menu of tacos and enchiladas, but the spirit of South American fun is very much imbedded in the venue. The interior has the vibes of a Cuban bar in a 70s movie, but with little quirks like a little green gnome standing on the bar, or the tip jar that sits beneath a basketball hoop behind the bar added into the mix.
What we say:
Tacos and drinks aside, fun is the most important aspect of any Mexican bar. Luckily, it looks like Del 74 has that in abundance, from the two quirky owners of the bar to its off-kilter aesthetic. The food menu is simple, but that doesn’t mean basic, boasting a selection of tacos and enchiladas with fillings like sautéed tilapia with homemade coleslaw, slow-cooked lamb or crispy sweet potatoes for the veggies. And to top it off, there’s lots of Mexican drinks to wash the food down like margarita cocktails – including a refreshing cucumber variety – tequila, mezcal and Mexican beers.
