Inspired by a recent trip to Japan, a Steely Dan song, and the loss of 'Legs', comes Peg, the third venue from the renowned team behind Bright and P. Franco.
Opening up in the former Legs space on Morning Lane in Hackney, Peg is a casual restaurant and wine bar, with a menu featuring izakaya: Japanese bar snacks. These include the likes of chicken hearts, thighs and legs, along with heartier plates such as smoked mackerel and turnip broth.
Known for their simple ethos, founders Will Gleave and Phil Bracey have kept things minimal for the third opening, including table tops made from recycled yogurt pots and a natural wine list. The small restaurant will be open Wednesday - Sunday, serving lunch from Thursday, and if their previous projects are anything to go by, Peg is set to become a Hackney stalwart.
