Operating in a sleek, contemporary space close to Hackney Downs, the powers-that-be strive to create a welcome atmosphere perfect for eating, drinking and having a good old chin-wag. To that end, they've included a neat little patio spot outside, perfect for going alfresco when the sun is out. 'Fresh' is something of a buzzword at Verden, which is why they update their menu frequently to include the best seasonal ingredients around at the time.

Verden's wine list is a force to be reckoned with. It's stocked full of quality options that have been plucked from around the world, with French and Mediterranean bottles perhaps the best represented. Offering delectable meat and cheese platters as well as a small pool of tasty dinner options, you won't go hungry here either. Verden strikes us as a really polished venue offering high quality produce, and with a charming little alfresco patio you could easily wile away a whole day here in the summertime.
