Happiness Forgets is a small and perfectly formed basement bar
in Shoreditch, on Hoxton Square.
Found at the bottom of a discreet stairwell, it is the ideal
place to enjoy an intimate and sensual atmosphere, created by the
many cushioned benches grouped together, and enhanced by
candle-light and blood-red walls. This little basement cocktail bar might only have a small
capacity of no more than 50, but it's a world-renowned pick that
consistently ranks among the best in the business.
Along with the quirky furniture and the comfy atmosphere goes
the sophisticated 40s/50s "rare groove" music, a very refined blend
of obscure jazz, pop, jazz fusion, R&B and soul which gives the
final touch to the ambience of the place, making it suitable for
couples and keen conversationalists. Expect spirits and original
cocktails, such as Perfect Storm, Ward Eight, Tantris Sidecar, or
Eastside Fizz.
