Bar Pepito

Description

Bar Pepito, a cosy Mediterranean style bar and sister to Camino Cruz del Rey in King's Cross, is London's first sherry bar. Bar Pepito is rather small, but it is full of atmosphere and authenticity. The bar is full of sherry casks, even the tables are sherry cask-shaped. Bar Pepito is welcoming and it's wine and sherry collections tempt you in. Bar Pepito offers 15 different sherries, all perfectly available by the glass starting at the drinkonomical price of £3.50 per glass (100ml). If you haven't got the hang of sherry, Bar Pepito will have no problem helping you out. Start with a less sweet sherry such as the Manzanilla €˜La Gitana€™ (Bodegas Hidalgo), a dry, yeasty and almondy sherry. For a sweeter option go for the €˜Alfonso€™ (González Byass) which smells deliciously of nuts, caramel and honey. The sweeter sherries are recommended to be drank with the cold tapas-like plates, go for  the cured beef from León with confited cep mushrooms and truffle oil for the perfect satisfaction of the sherry experience. Even if you feel completely lost about what dish to choose with your sherry, Bar Pepito has written on the food menu what sherry is recommended with each dish- so you can kick back and enjoy your time at Pepito. Unfortunately Bar Pepito doesn€™t take reservations, but on Sundays the bar is available for private hire.

Do you ever feel you’re living in London with your eyes wide shut? Oh, really? Perfect, I’m not alone. Arriving for our reservation, I suddenly realised I’d been to Varnisher’s Yard, on a number of occasions, getting lost in the superb bar/restaurant, Camino. I&rsquo…
