A hot new music venue and restaurant bar planted smack bang in the middle of Hackney Central. Paying ode to owner George Akins' Norwegian roots, Oslo has a "Dark Nordic" theme, featuring eerie woodland and menacing folk characters - very cool, especially considering its position in the 140-year-old former Station Building, perched on the corner of Mare Street and Amhurst Road. Oslo is the latest offshoot of the DHP Family, the award-winning music promoters, festival organisers and folks behind much-loved venues, Rock City in Nottingham and Thekla in Bristol.
Oslo brings some cracking live music to East London, with a license until 2am midweek and 3am at weekends, with a daytime restaurant bar serving locally sourced fare and craft beers to Hackney-ites. Always managing to draw in music lovers, foodies and hipsters in one fell swoop, this new Hackney music venue has already proven itself a hit.
