Shacking up shop in the once redundant pub across the road from the infamous Tea Building in Shoreditch, the dapper chaps behind The Drunken Monkey have embarked on their second East London venture, with another wholly East London theme. Introducing, Bull In A China Shop.
A 40 strong restaurant spot and 30 strong cocktail bar that markedly reflects East London's ever industrial, artistic persona, Bull In A China Shop is lovingly minimalistic and brimming with cool character thanks to interiors from Sara Lewin (of Cereal Killer infamy). Those looking to sup by the bar will be spoiled in rich whisky treats as Bull In A China Shop stock bold Japanese flavours from the likes of Karuizawa, Akashi and Ichiro.
Dining with Bull In A China Shop? Morning glory guests will get to chomp the clock away with pork, chicken, duck and Lap Chung sausage bao buns, and savoury congee porridge, while those tucking in a little later will enjoy spoils the likes of a black charcoal chicken burger with Japanese Panko flakes and black brioche bun (bamboo charcoal), or rich rotisserie chicken from heralded Simon Chan. Those needing a bit more formality in their life will also appreciate the three course, Thursday to Sunday set menu with lavished welcome cocktail.
