Mamma Mia! We've put
together an 8 piece band to soundtrack everyone's favourite racing
game - whilst you play on a huge screen! Our band will be playing
all the best bits from Mario Kart through the years, including
classic courses, newer tracks and the winning theme - they'll even
speed up for the final lap! don't worry though, we won't be
throwing shells or banana peels at you.
You can choose to
compete against others where you'll be able to fully immerse
yourself in the music whilst racing - or come to cheer on your pals
as they compete for the all important 'Marioke Cup' a £100 bar tab
and a bucket of gaming goodies!
We'll also have more
screens for other opportunities to play on the night as well as a
mini retro arcade whilst our DJ cuts together edits of famous
gaming music in between races.
Registration for
those who want to race starts from 6.30pm and will last until
7.30pm. Please note, your ticket only guarantees you entry to the
event and does not guarantee you a space playing on the big screen
tournament. Names will be drawn at random from those who enter the
race registration - first race starting at 7.45!
We'll draw entries
out of a hat at random for each round - please note that tickets
guarantee you entry only.

FAQs
Will my ticket guarantee me a race on the big screen?
Your ticket will guarantee you entry to the venue only. To be in with a chance of racing on the big screen you'll need to turn up for race registration between 6.30pm-7.30pm and make yourself known to us if your name gets drawn. Your ticket will however guarantee you a view of all band performances, as well as access to our retro arcade machines.
Is this event for serious gamers?
Whilst we welcome a wide range of
experienced Mario Kart players to Marioke, our events focus more on
the atmosphere created by having an 8 piece band playing along to
incredible music from our favourite game, with a smaller focus on
the competitive side so please keep that in mind when joining
us!
What version of Mario
Kart will you be using?
We'll be using Mario Kart 8 Deluxe on the
Switch
How many players
and races will there be per round?
There'll be 4 players selected for each round,
consisting of 2 races. The top 2 players overall will progress to
our semi final race later on in the night.
How will
you select players?
Players will be drawn at random out of a hat. To
be eligible for the draw you'll need to arrive for race
registration between 6.30pm and 7.30pm register next to the sound
desk. We'll then draw 4 players at random just before every round -
we'll move quickly through this so please stay aware, you'll have
10 seconds to make yourself known before we move on to the next
pick!
What engine class
will you be running? Any other specs I should know
about?
150cc / normal items / all characters allowed /
no smart steering / no auto acceleration
Will you have other
games to play for people who don't get selected?
We'll have a retro arcade available for others
to play who don't get selected to play in the races on the big
screen. Games include Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, Pacman, Donkey
Kong, NBA Jam, Out Run and many more. These will be included in the
price of your ticket, but please play nice!

1. The ticket holder voluntarily assumes all risks and danger incidental to the event for which the ticket is issued, whether occurring prior, during or after the event. The ticket holder voluntarily agrees that the management, venue, event participants, DesignMyNight WFL Media Ltd and all of their respective agents, officers, directors, owners and employers are expressly released by the ticket holder from any claims arising from such causes.
2. Tickets are issued subject to the rules and regulations of the venue.
3. Please check your tickets, as mistakes cannot always be rectified.
4. Occasionally, events are cancelled or postponed by the promoter, team, performer or venue for a variety of reasons. If the event is cancelled, please contact us for information on receiving a refund from the responsible party. If the event was moved or rescheduled, the venue or promoter may set refund limitations. It is your responsibility to ascertain the date and time of any rearranged event.
5. The venue reserves the right to refuse admission and may on occasion have to conduct security searches to ensure the safety of the patrons.
6. Every effort to admit latecomers will be made at a suitable break in the event, but admission cannot always be guaranteed.
7. We regret that tickets cannot be exchanged or refunded after purchase.
8. Tickets are sold subject to the venue or promoter's right to alter or vary the programme due to events or circumstances beyond its control without being obliged to refund monies or exchange tickets.
9. If this ticket is re-sold or transferred for profit or commercial gain by anyone other than the promoter, venue management, DesignMyNight or one of their authorised sub-agents, it will become voidable and the holder may be
refused entry to or ejected from the venue.
10. The venue may operate a No Smoking Policy.
11. The promoter, venue management and DesignMyNight accept no responsibility for any personal property.
12. The event listed on the purchased ticket is strictly for ticket holders who are over 18 years of age. Identification may be required.
13. Ticket purchase does not guarantee you a spot playing Mario Kart on the big screen.
