Popular Shoreditch all-day Italian eatery Spelzini is about to undergo a mini makeover. But don’t worry, Spelzini isn't going anywhere. Rather, come 6pm the venue will transform into Luigi’s Bar - an Italian wine, cocktails and aperitivo bar. Expect an entire menu devoted to vermouth, cocktails such as cherry shrub negronis and truffle & oil frozen martinis, as well as an extensive list of Italian wines.
Inspired by the owner’s great-grandfather - a fishmonger and grocer from the Northern district of Liguria - Luigi’s Bar will also offer a menu of tapas-style sharing dishes and craft salumi distinct to the Italian region. Highlights will include bresaola and mortadella, gorgonzola with figs, burrata with chilli oil and a selection of tramezzini (small Piedmontese sandwiches).
