First, he graced us with the acclaimed White Lyan in Hoxton; then it was to the south bank for Dandelyan - so good that it was ranked as the best bar in the world back in 2018 - before being reincarnated as Lyaness. And now? Ryan Chetiyawardana - aka Mr Lyan - is dropping the iconic name for his latest opening; Seed Library.
Located at One Hundred Shoreditch, the newbie is set to take over the basement space which was once home to Miranda (when it was the Ace Hotel). Along with over 250 rooms, seafood restaurant Goddard & Gibbs, a cosy lobby bar, and a foliage-adorned rooftop terrace, Seed Library makes up the hotel's expansive offering.
With rotating guest dishes, the food offering will see sharing snacks and seasonal picks up for grabs. Then in contrast to the progressive drinks at Lyaness, the cocktail menu here leans towards a "lo-fi, analogue approach" with a sancho leaf martini alongside a perilla G&T. But it's not just cocktail lovers being catered to here, with a handpicked list of craft beer and low-intervention wines too.
Thirsty? Same here.
