What they say:
Nothing fussy, just good old style bartending. But a little different. This is the essence of White Lyan, no ice, no citrus, no perishables - but a lorra lorra good times. This bar is about getting people to look at drinks in a new way, good folk, and good times, supplemented by good drinks, not centred around the notion of good drinks. Because of this, White Lyan are starting from scratch, questioning how things are done and and hoping to appeal to even those who don’t normally enjoy cocktails. Drinks that are ready in seconds, bartenders who aren't too distracted chopping lemons and making drinks get involved in the conversation and a cocktail bar that doesn't feel like your usual cocktail environment.
What we say:
White Lyan is an exciting cocktail bar that has recently opened in Hoxton. The bar serves cocktails with no ice, minimal branded spirits and zero shaking and stirring. At the helm of this new bar in East London are Mr Lyan aka Ryan Chetiyawardana and Iain Griffiths, both award-winning tenders with a penchant for tossing out the rulebook and creating innovative drinks. The Hoxton bar is set over two floors, with an intimate drinking space upstairs, raucous dancing on the table space downstairs, and plenty of (non-shaking or stirring) bartender banter.
