What they say:
Two big names in London hospitality have joined forces to open a secretive Chinatown cocktail lounge. Jeff Tan - formerly of Hakkasan - and Alex Looi (The Dorchester), have opened Viet Lounge on the third floor of Tan's Vietnamese restaurant, Viet Food. The bar's onus is on the drinks, with a large central bar to watch bartenders muddle drinks such as High Five Mexico (tequila, matcha tea syrup, almond syrup, lime juice, cucumber, and apple juice).
What we say:
Chinatown has got another sleek new addition in the form of Viet Lounge, with decor that includes Art Deco-style stained glass windows and bright wall murals. Along with Asian-style cocktails, the joint will be serving Vietnamese small plates, with choices such as sweetcorn crab balls, glazed chicken wings, and Hanoi braised beef in fish sauce.
