The Westbury

Description

The Westbury is now closed. Now known as The Hudson.

This Kilburn haunt in north London is undoubtedly one of the best music bars in the capital. Wedged in between Camden, Queens Park and Notting Hill, Kilburn is without doubt one of the next areas to "up and come". Once the roughest pub on the Kilburn Road, this place has undergone a major refurbishment and introduced DJs and music at weekends in an attempt to replace the frightening criminal clientele with young indie kids and wannabe house-heads. Miraculously, it has worked. The Colombo Group '€“ owners of Camden'€™s Blues Kitchen, Dalston'€™s The Nest and others have seen the potential in an area and created a quality music-focused venue. The Westbury has vintage-style decor '€“ large gold mirrors, huge chandeliers and fancy lights. They have also a separate room for private hire perfect for your birthday party, hen night or stag do. The management pull in all their favours to bring a stellar collection of DJs to play at The Westbury such as: Goldie, Tim Westwood, Joey Negro, DJ Format and many more regularly join the musical dots between house, drum and bass and hip hop. They serve pretty decent pub grub with a main focus on home made burgers. The beer selection is average but at the Westbury they stand out for their cocktails featuring their signature strongly flavoured cocktail:The Westbury. It is a blends of Bacardi Superior, passoa, stem ginger and lemon with bubbly.
