What they say:
The selection of white and rose cavas will be available to enjoy by the glass or bottle in the opulent and stylish restaurant space, five floors above the heart of London’s West End. Guests to the Spanish restaurant can take a front row seat at the tapas bar to enjoy the theatrics of the Grill Kitchen and fully immerse themselves in the delights of cava. Guests can become cava connoisseurs, enjoying the flavours and aromas that rival many of the top vintage champagnes, presented at a fraction of the price. Bottles range from the legendary Kripta Gran Reserve, a blend of the oldest vines in Penedès to the Alta Alella Laieta with its entire production based on certified organic agricultural practices. Furthermore, Head Sommelier Zsolt Kismodi will offer guests the opportunity to sample some first class vintage cavas and explore the history of the sparkling wine with monthly Castillo Perelada master classes. During the 1-hour class, participants will learn about the grapes used, the aging process and tips on how to distinguish the unique bouquets. The masterclasses will cost from £39.00 per person with limited places available.
What we say:
Cava Bar is set to add a touch of Spanish flavour to the London bar scene accompanied by some Asian treats. The new bar, opening on the 4th March, will be the largest Cava bar in London and will bring some much needed variety to London's wine options. To highlight the versatility of cava, Head Chef Alberto Hernandez will present a bespoke daily changing tapas menu to be enjoyed at the Cava Bar. Guests can enjoy three tapas dishes for £18 including such delights as seafood tartar served with ajo blanco and grilled cuttlefish with ink sauce and ali-oli. Often referred to as the Spanish equivalent of Champagne, this sparkling wine is predominantly made from the region of Catalonia. Inspired by the rising trend of cosmopolitan style ‘aperitivo drinking’, aqua nueva aims to educate guests on this commonly misunderstood sparkling wine by showcasing 15 award winning Cavas at their traditional tapas bar. Premium sparkling wine, Spanish tapas and sushi... what more could you ask for!!!
