The Wellington

Take a trip to The Strand to enjoy relaxed outdoor seating at The Wellington, a gorgeous, old-fashioned pub that's been around since 1903. Close to many tourist attractions, this is the ideal place for a pit-stop, promising a fine selection of cask ales, lagers and spirits. And if you're hungry? You can get your hands on everything from hearty pies covered in gravy to traditional fish and chips or chargrilled steaks here.

The Petersham

Promising one of the best Covent Garden beer gardens, The Petersham is a high-end drinking and dining spot on Floral Court with its very own private terrace. Their beautiful flower displays change throughout the year in line with the seasons, with a number of trees and quirky wooden sculptures lining the garden as well. They've got an enviable wine list to choose from, as well as a regularly changing menu that features dishes such as asparagus risotto, aubergine tortelli or breaded lamb cutlets.

Century

After a stunning rooftop terrace to drink on? Century Members' Club might just be the best place for that, flaunting the largest one in Soho. Its name comes from the 100 steps it takes to get to their elevated venue, and trust us, it's worth the walk. Expect amazing views of the city below, with cosy benches, pretty plants and fairy lights in the evening. Perfect for private dinners or parties, these guys are slinging out a sustainably sourced menu of aubergine parmigiana, grilled octopus and 28 day dry-aged steaks, alongside some killer cocktails.

The Bear and Staff

Flaunting a prime position in Leicester Square, The Bear and Staff is the perfect place to stop after a busy day of sightseeing. Dating back to 1714, the historic joint has a rich past, and it still maintains traditional decor to this day, alongside a laidback terrace at the front. They've got an impressive range of local cask ales to choose from, as well as hearty pub dishes like grilled seabass, sausage and mash or baked mac 'n' cheese.

Marquess of Anglesey

Situated just a short walk from some of the most popular theatres in the area, the Marquess of Anglesey is a three-storey pub with traditional interiors and a welcoming atmosphere. Head up to the third floor for a rooftop terrace with a fully retractable cover, making for a glorious elevated beer garden in the summer months. Enjoy refreshing cocktails like the Elderflower Elixir or a Passionfruit Kiss, as well as everything from crispy squid to chicken Caesar salad on the food menu.

Bow St Tavern

Free round of Guinness when you dine with us

For a pretty beer garden in Covent Garden that suits all weathers, historical pub Bow Street Tavern is your best bet - having been serving the area since 1763. Their cute rooftop terrace is covered, with blankets for those chillier nights, as well as being filled with plants and colourful cushions dotted around the wooden space. There's even an outdoor screen for sports fans, and while you're here you can tuck into everything from Korean chicken burgers to smoked three bean chilli or their signature Sunday roasts, paired with locally sourced beers or something from their huge collection of gin.

The Porterhouse

Not only is The Porterhouse the largest pub in the entire city, but it's also got a spacious beer garden to boot. This sunny Maiden Lane spot has all your alfresco drinking needs covered, with large wooden tables and umbrellas to keep you cool. They've won gold medals twice in the International Brewing Industry Award, so you know you're in good hands when it comes to their beer as well - some of which is brewed on site. Visiting on a weekend? Then be sure to take advantage of the live music and DJ sets too.
